About Hokkaido Elite Club

sea kayak trip

We didn't set out to build a tour company.
We set out to share something most people
never find on their own.

Just outside Otaru, Hokkaido's coastline
opens up into something rare — cold, clear
water, dramatic rock faces, and a quiet that
doesn't exist anywhere else. We know every
line of it.

Our Team

Mibo Yu

Powder to Ocean · Two Seasons, One Guide

Jianyun Yu — known universally as Mibo — is Hokkaido's rare four-season specialist. Holding elite ski instructor credentials alongside marine guide licences, she bridges HEC's winter and summer programmes with seamless fluency.

In summer, she captains private boat charters and leads SUP expeditions along Hokkaido's startlingly clear coastal waters. Her breadth of certification — across snow, sea, and wilderness first aid — makes her the team's most versatile guide and the natural first choice for Chinese-speaking clients.

Alex

River to Saltwater · The Fishing Specialist

Jiaming Wang — known to clients as Alex — brings the patience of a lifelong angler and the precision of a guide trained on some of North America's most demanding waters. He grew his passion at a very young age and intensified it on the rivers and harbors of British Columbia, spending years learning the craft across both fly fishing and saltwater traditions before bringing his expertise to Hokkaido.

In summer, Alex leads HEC's fishing programmes — from technical fly fishing on Hokkaido's clear inland rivers to harbor sessions on the coast. Whether you've never held a rod or you're chasing your next personal best, he handles every detail of the day: gear, technique, location, and safety. Beginners are welcome — first-timers leave knowing the difference between a strike and a snag.

◆  Advanced First Aid
